Prof. Pierre Blanchard (on the left in the photo) – who was a member of the Grand Magisterium of the Order – is particularly distinguished for his faithful and active participation in the Commission for Appointments and Promotions, headed by Chancellor Alfredo Bastianelli.
We would like to pay tribute to the French Knight Pierre Blanchard, who passed away last winter and left a considerable donation to the Order of the Holy Sepulchre in his will.
This discreet and gentle man, who was a Member of the Grand Magisterium, dedicated himself for a long time, on a voluntary basis, to the work of the Appointments and Promotions Commission, chaired by Chancellor Bastianelli, and also actively participated in the meetings of the Economic and Financial Commission.
Cardinal Filoni underlined his qualities in the service of the Order in a message read by the Lieutenant General at Professor Blanchard’s funeral in the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi.
A professor of economics and commerce, he was Secretary of the Extraordinary Section of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA). Our prayers continue to accompany this great servant of the Church, who was highly esteemed in the Vatican.
